We enthusiastically recommend DiskWarrior and PlusOptimizer for use on all Mac OS X extended disks. DiskWarrior is a utility program designed from the ground up with a totally different approach to preventing and resolving directory damage which is the leading cause of Mac instability. All of us at Alsoft using Mac OS X run DiskWarrior and PlusOptimizer on our Mac OS X disks regularly to maximize disk performance. When you are started from Mac OS 9.x (your own system or the DiskWarrior CD), both of our utilities will do what they do best, safely and completely. Long filenames are no problem for DiskWarrior and PlusOptimizer. DiskWarrior recreates your disk directories, eliminating errors in the process, and populates them with the data recovered from the original directories. Was not able to replace it.disk it to badly corrupted. I copied a preview copy of my mac HD using diskwarrior to an external. Used diskwarrior but couldnt replace rebuilt copy.
I cannot log into Mac side or windows side using option. There's no chance of either program creating problems with your disks just because you are really running Mac OS X. Something got screwy when I opened my mac. They will work with any disks that are available only to Classic. If you try to use DiskWarrior or PlusOptimizer in the Classic environment, they simply will not let you do anything with disks that are available to both Classic and Mac OS X.
Not only is DiskWarrior safe to use on Mac OS X disks, it will fix any problems with iNodes, even better than Apple's built-in Disk Utility. Joe Muscara (of Alsoft) sent us this information regarding using DiskWarrior and PlusOptimizer with Mac OS X disks (see also this previous item):
